Pasco County schools host virtual town hall meetings

Land O' Lakes, Florida -- Pasco County School Board members have scheduled three school-based town hall meetings and one virtual town hall meeting to share information and take questions and suggestions on the district's 2013-2014 budget.

All of the following meetings will begin at 6 p.m.

Wednesday, May 22 - Seven Springs Middle School cafeteria, 2441 Little Road, NPR - Hosted by Board Chairman Cynthia Armstrong (District 3)

Tuesday, May 28 - Hudson High School mini-theater, 14410 Cobra Way, Hudson - Hosted by Board Member Steve Luikart (District 5)

Synthetic drug bust targets 3 locations, nets 4 arrests

New Port Richey, Florida -- A major synthetic drug bust in Pasco County has landed four people in jail, and there's a warning from deputies that they're not done yet.

Officials say the operators of a Mobil-Mart in New Port Richey at Massachussetts and Rowan Road were warned several times to stop selling synthetic drugs.

But undercover officers say that did not happen and Tuesday moved in on the store and two other locations.

Also raided were the Super K store at 12838 in Hudson and the Boost Mobile store at 2448 Grand Blvd. in Holiday.

Sheriff: Synthetic drug shops no different than drug dealers

New Port Richey, Florida -- Pasco Sheriff Chris Nocco says the only difference between people who sell synthetic marijuana and street drug dealers, is that the spice dealers operate out of a corner store.

Nocco says they've tried to go underground by only selling to people they know. But detectives say they're still selling, so deputies are coming.

Undercover synthetic drug op in Pasco nets 4 arrests

Pasco County, Florida-- After nearly five full months of investigating, Pasco County deputies say they have finally busted businesses who, despite multiple warnings of the dangers involved, continued to sell synthetic drugs to the public.

...And not just any public. Preliminary information released Tuesday says at least three stores sold synthetic drugs to people involved with an undercover operation run by the Pasco County Sheriff's Office.

Woman says sinkhole 'fix' did more harm than good

New Port Richey, FL -- A New Port Richey woman is fast becoming the poster child for sinkhole insurance problems that hundreds of people have claimed are unfair.

Twelve years ago, 78-year-old Donna King bought what she thought was her dream house. But a couple of years ago, King says she noticed some small cracks outside her home.

A sinkhole was found and a contractor started pumping grout under the house to stabilize it. In fact, they pumped so much grout, King says her house started cracking... outside and inside, ceilings, walls and floors.
