Come see the Southern Region In-Line Speed Skating Championships

Pasco County, Florida -- The City of New Port Richey is welcoming back the Southern Region In-Line Speed Skating Championships. 

The two day event will take place at the Spinnations Skating Center on Congress Street on Saturday and Sunday, May 18 and 19. 

Close to 200 speed skaters will compete in over 180 races over the weekend. Relays and metered races for all the divisions from Tiny Tot through to the Grand Veterans will compete on Saturday and on Sunday the Novice Division will skate. Doors open at 8:00 a.m. on both days.

Middle schooler caught selling pot to student

New Port Richey, Florida -- A 14-year-old Pasco County student was arrested Friday after he was caught selling marijuana to another student.

Pasco Sheriff's deputies say the teen admitted to Gulf Middle School's assistant principal he met up with the eighth grader during breakfast on the morning of May 3 and sold him a bag of marijuana for $45. The teen said the 13-year-old gave him $33 and was going to give him the rest when he sold some.

The teen was charged with sale of marijuana within a 1,000 feet of a school and possession of marijuana.

Pasco County, Florida -- The 3rd annual Rock the Park concert benefit is coming up this may. 

The concert will bring an infusion of new rock music and Tampa's award winning food trucks, as well as a silent auction hosted by 102.5 The Bone. 

The concert will benefit the Center for Independence, Inc. which provides a wide variety of services to the developmentally disable community and their families. 

Rock the Park is free and open to the public and will be held at Sims Park Amphitheater, 6341 Bank Street, New Port Richey. 

Publix reacts to man trapped 4 days in car

New Port Richey, FL -- He survived in his car for four days, eating nothing but snacks.

On Tuesday 90-year-old Jay Ambrozia is recovering from broken bones he says he got in a spill at a local Publix store.

Ambrozia is busted up, but said to be in good spirits. He's a WWII vet and very independent, but friends say he'll likely need some help after this.

NEW PORT RICHEY, Florida - Neighbors of an elderly man who we're told was trapped in his car for four days, is said to be doing well as he recovers at an area hospital.

Justyn "Jay" Ambrozia was rushed to the Medical Center for Trinity after neighbors said he could not get out of his car after hurting himself when he fell in a nearby grocery store.

Grandfather trapped in car for days survives on snacks

NEW PORT RICHEY, Florida - John Collins says his neighbor, a 90-year-old grandfather, survived being trapped in his car for days by eating cake, cookies, and empty ice cream cones.

Collins and Carl Frantz feel terrible they didn't notice Justyn Ambrozia sooner. Ambrozia's nickname is "Jay." They say he'd returned home from a quick trip to the grocery store last week but couldn't get out of his car.
