BB&T joins Pasco Economic Development Council Board | Business
Lutz, Florida -- BB&T, a longtime investor in Pasco EDC, has increased its financial commitment to economic development and will be joining the Board of Directors. Representing BB&T on the Pasco EDC Board will be Senior Vice President Chip Falk.
“As investors in Pasco EDC we have seen the progress Pasco County has made over the last few years,” said Falk. “2013 will be an exciting year in Pasco County and we are glad to be an even bigger part of that.”
Over the past year Pasco EDC embarked on an aggressive drive to promote Pasco County as the best location in Tampa Bay for corporate investment. Despite a down economy, this resulted in Pasco EDC generating more leads than in the two previous years combined, and doubling the number of economic development projects it reported last year.
The Pasco EDC Board of Directors is responsible for governing the organization and providing leadership in the execution of its strategy. The Pasco EDC governance structure enables private and public sector leaders to collectively leverage knowledge, passion, influence and relationships to create a sustainable and diversified economy in Pasco County.
“BB&T has an important presence in our County,” said John Hagen, President/CEO. “And Chip Falk will be a great addition to our board. BB&T’s timing couldn’t be better. This will take us another step closer to making Pasco County a place where everyone can achieve their economic potential.”
