West Pasco Veterans' Stand Down event Saturday | Community Spirit

Port Richey, Florida -- Do you know a veteran who is homeless? Or, maybe a veteran who needs help?

West Pasco Stand Down is being hosted by One CommUnity Now. In addition, the Department of Veterans Affairs and The Pasco Veterans Council is also helping to host the free event on Saturday, Nov. 10 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Organizers say this is a day were veterans will be given resources to help them with their daily life. It will also give them access to medical screenings, benefits and substance abuse counseling. In addition, job and legal services will be provided, plus showers, haircuts, food and clothing among other resources.

Donations of the following would be greatly appreciated:

• Personal Hygiene Items: combs, deorderant, razors, shampoo, small soap bars, toilet paper, paper towel, gently used towels.
• Men's Clothing Items: socks, belts, pants/jeans (size 28 - 36), t-shirts, backpacks.
• Food Items: fruit cups, juice packs, peanut butter, jelly, crackers, pop top pastas, pork and beans, vienna sausages, beef stew, spam.

This event will be held at Unity Truth Center Church at 5844 Pine Hill Road, Port Richey.
