Student charged with murder of man found in Pasco park | Crime
New Port Richey, Florida -- A high school student has been arrested and charged with the death of a man whose body was found in Starkey Wilderness Park Sunday afternoon.
According to the Pasco County Sheriff's Office, 18-year-old Marcus Wilson was drinking with 30-year-old Christopher Ashton Martin at the park around 1 a.m. Sunday. Wilson told police he passed out on a picnic table and when he woke up Martin was performing oral sex on him.
Detectives say Wilson told them he lost his temper and kicked Martin in the back knocking him to the ground. He then picked up a gun Martin had lying on the table and shot him. Wilson said he covered up his body with a sleeping bag, cleaned up the campsite, took his wallet and left in Martin's vehicle.
Before going home, Wilson filled up the car with gas using $40 from Martin's wallet.
Detectives found Martin's wallet, car and gun at Wilson's apartment in the 15000 block of Avalon Avenue in Clearwater.
Wilson is a student at Mavericks High School. He is being charged with 2nd Degree Murder.
Martin, whose last known address was in S. Ft. Harrison Avenue in Clearwater, was killed on his birthday May 13.
