Port Richey, Florida -- A man faces assault charges after he allegedly tried to run over his neighbors while they were out with their children Wednesday night.
Witnesses told a Pasco County deputy their neighbor Robert Serrano drove his minivan into the northbound side of Rainbow Road and up onto the sidewalk toward a group of people out with their children. The victims pushed their kids out of the way and were able to avoid being injured.
The victims told the deputy they believed Serrano acted in retaliation from an earlier confrontation about him allegedly selling drugs in front of their home.
While on his way to jail, the deputy reported Serrano spontaneously said "it's not against the law to swerve the car to not hit children in the street and they are all racist."
Serrano, 44, was charged with Aggravated Assault.
