Man arrested for beating, sexually battering mother of his child | Crime

Hudson, Florida -- A Holiday man spent Christmas in jail after police say he raped and beat the mother of his child outside her home early Tuesday morning.

The woman told Pasco County deputies Rodney Platthy approached her outside her Hudson home around 5:30 and beat her with his hands and feet several times. She said he then raped her on the side of her house and afterwards followed her back into her home and fled when she called police.

The responding deputies say evidence in the woman's side yard showed signs that a struggle had occurred and she was taken to Bayonet Point Hospital for treatment of several head and bodily injuries. The woman told investigators she tried to defend herself from Platthy's punches and bit and scratched him during the attack.

Evidence was collected from the woman for analysis. In an interview with deputies, Platthy denied the allegations and would not consent to a DNA swab.

Platthy, 33, is currently being held at the Land O' Lakes Jail.
