New support group for families with Autism

Pasco County, Florida -- There is a new support group for Autism and Neurological Disorders- Helping HANDs.

Helping HANDs stands for offering Hope for Autism and Neurological Disorders. This group is for parents or any family members or friends impacted by Autism and Related Neurological Disorders such as Tourette’s, Down Syndrome, Sensory Processing Disorder, ADHD, Aspergers or other Autism Spectrum. Meet other families with similar issues!

Pasco County, Florida -- Curious George Bike Day is happening at Starkey Park!

On May 18, this event will encourage families to have fun outdoors, get active and see what the park has to offer. Just some of the activities are:

  • Live music by Shana Banana
  • Free books
  • Cooking demo
  • Story time with Curious George
  • Dog adoptions
  • Inflatable bounce houses
  • Much more!

Make sure to bring your bicycle, tricycle or big wheel for a bike ride.

Pasco County, Florida -- Register your kids for camp before summer starts!

Summer Day Camp at Shady hills Community Center will run for 7 weeks from June 24 thru August 9 for ages 5-13. Camp hours are from 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Make sure to bring the following info to registration: Proof of Pasco County residency, driver licnese or picture ID, emergency phone numbers and medical insurance info, cash or checks made payable to BOCC, birth certificate and proof of Kindergarten completion. 

The cost of the camp is $15.00 per week.

The seminar, taking place at Gulfside’s Lutz Thrift Shoppe, located at 1930 Land O’Lakes Blvd. in Harbour Village Shopping Plaza, will feature Aging with Dignity’s Five Wishes, America’s most popular living will with more than 15 million copies in national circulation.

Pasco County, Florida -- Families can see the movie "Wreck-It Ralph" for free at the Movie on the Beach event.

This Friday, April 5, the movie will be show at Anclote River Park. The movie will begin at 7:30 p.m. 

The event is free but people are encouraged to bring chairs and blankets and children 13 and under must be accompanied by an adult. 

Anclote River Park is located on 1119 Bailies Bluff Road.

The event is FREE!
