PASCO CO., Florida -- The Pasco County Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's help in searching for a suspect with a long criminal history.
Anthony Batta is currently wanted for leaving the scene with injury and fleeing to elude, according to the sheriff's office. Deputies say he crashed into a patrol car Saturday morning, drove a mile away, and then fled on foot.
The deputy in the patrol car received minor injuries in the accident.
Deputies say Batta has nearly 50 arrests for crimes including resisting with violence, fleeing, possession of cocaine, auto theft, and home invasion robbery. He is a known gang member and is considered armed and dangerous.
Batta is 6'3", 190 lbs., and has multiple tattoos. The sheriff's office urges citizens to not make contact with him. Instead, call the sheriff's office at 727-844-7711 if he is spotted.
