Fight over Bucs loss sends husband to jail | News

Port Richey, Florida -- A Port Richey man was arrested Christmas Eve after an argument with his wife earlier in the day.

According to the police report, 50-year-old Billy Ray Perry told police he got "pissed off" after the Tampa Bay Buccaneers lost to the Carolina Panthers and admitted to yelling at his wife. But denied hitting or grabbing her during the fight.

Police say Perry's wife had bruises on both of her arms consistent with her account of what happened. She told police Perry grabbed her by the back of the neck, shoulders and arms during the fight, and had also punched her multiple times on the top and sides of her head over the past week.

Perry was arrested and charged with Domestic Battery and taken to Land O'Lakes Jail.
