Pasco Animal Services still needs help identifying dog abuser

Pasco Animal Services still needs help identifying dog abuser

Pasco County, FL - Pasco County Animal Services rescued a puppy from a canal on Friday that appears to be the victim of extreme animal cruelty.

A passerby happened to see the dog and contacted Animal Services to report “a stray dog stuck in a canal by the bridge”.  When the Animal Control Officer arrived, he found a 6-8 week old pit-mix puppy clinging to a palm frond floating in the canal.

The puppy had medical tape and gauze wrapped around his neck, one ear was amputated and the other ear had a severe cut.  The animal was suffering from hypothermia.

The black and white dog was found in a canal located at Flora Avenue and Basswood Drive in Holiday.  Anyone with information about this puppy and the circumstances leading to his injuries are urged to contact Supervisor Kevin Mallory at Pasco County Animal Services at 727-834-3216.
