Tampa real estate booming; leads state

Tampa, Florida-- The numbers are in, and they are up! More homes were sold last month in the Tampa Bay area than in in the past seven years combined.

According to MLS figures, 3,100 homes were sold in Hillsborough, Pinellas, Pasco and Hernando counties last month, a 7 percent increase compared to the same month in 2012.

Home sales prices also increased, up 22 percent over the same time period.

The average home in the Tampa Bay area sold for $150,000.

Pasco EDC releases survey to the community on the Hacienda Hotel

New Port Richey, Florida -- The Pasco Economic Development Council, Inc. is conducting a survey of New Port Richey residents and businesses to find out what the community would like to see happen with the Hacienda Hotel as it is restored.

“Now that two clean-up days for the Hacienda Hotel have been completed, many people have been wondering what the Hacienda Hotel will be used for in the future,” said John Hagen, Pasco EDC President/CEO. “This survey will help gather important information to guide the City in its decision.”

New Port Richey, Florida -- The City of New Port Richey is kicking off the new year with a restoration effort to help bring the historic Hacienda Hotel back to brillance and is asking the community for help.

“2013 is a year of new opportunities, a fresh start, and a chance for our community to come together and celebrate the treasures in our city,” said Susan Dillinger, the City of New Port Richey’s Interim City Manager. “I can’t think of a better place to start than the Hacienda Hotel.”

Pasco learns how to collect

Land O' Lakes, Florida -- Attorney Steve Mezer of Bush|Ross in Tampa will help Pasco County communities learn how to collect fines and liens imposed upon landowners when he addresses the Thursday, Nov. 8, meeting of the Pasco Alliance of Community Associations (PACA).

The public meeting begins Thursday, Nov. 8, at 7 p.m. at the Land O' Lakes Community Center, located at 5401 Land O' Lakes Blvd. (US 41), three miles north of SR 54.
