New Port Richey, Florida -- Gulf View Square is pleased to welcome the local community to a Free Comic Book Day on Saturday, May 4 from 10:00 am – 5:00 pm located in the North Court by Harold Seltzer’s.

Comic book enthusiasts can sort through a huge store-wide sale, as well as meet and greet costumed characters, enjoy fabulous prizes, and chat with some of the top creators in the comic book industry that will be signing comics, as well as sketching. Prices vary on sketches. Guests can also pick up an exclusive 10th anniversary shirt or print.

A community yard sale is going on Saturday, Feb. 23. The event will take place at 6735 Hammock Road in Port Richey.

The sale starts at 8 a.m.

It is free and open to the public.

Organizers offer an open invitation to come rowse, shop, and bargain. They say it will be great fun!

New Port Richey, Florida -- If you're looking for an event for you and your family this weekend, here's an idea -- and, it's free!

Liberty Tax Service is hosting a free block party and outdoor-style flea market at 1816 U.S. Highway 19 in Holiday.

The party will be held on Saturday, Jan. 19 at 10 a.m.

Several vendors with a variety of merchandise will be selling products. In addition, local businesses will be advertising their services.

Free food and raffles will be offered during event.

Fresh Friday Farmers Market kicks off the new year

New Port Richey, Florida -- For the second week, the city will hold its Fresh Friday Farmers Market featuring fresh produce and fruit, homemade honey, cheeses and baked goods.

The event will have something for everybody and will be held every Friday from 5 - 9 p.m. through April 26. From fine art to fine spirits there will be something new and different each week.

On the first Friday of every month the event will have a First Friday Art Exhibit and Open House at the PEAG Art Gallery on Grand Boulevard.

Christmas tree recycling locations

Land O' Lakes, Florida -- If your home was filled the sweet aroma of pine needles from your real Christmas tree, then listen up! You will eventually have to bid farewell to the fresh green smell and toss the tree.

Now, the question you may ask, "Where do I recycle my tree?"

Well, if you have a Christmas tree with a root ball, you are urged to plant it! If not, then recycle it at one of the Pasco County parks.

Drop dates last from Dec. 26 through Jan. 6, 2013.

There is no charge to recycle at any of the following locations:
