Woman steals gas cap in school parking lot | Weird

New Port Richey, FL -- A New Port Richey woman was arrested Monday after she was seen stealing a gas cap from a car parked at a local school.
According to the police report, 25-year-old Deja Marie Medeiros was seen by a witness leaving a parent-teacher conference on Nov. 28 at Anclote Elementary School and heading towards the teacher's parking lot away from where her car was parked.
The witness told police they watched as Medeiros tried to remove gas caps from several cars but they were all locked or secured. She finally was able to find one vehicle with an unlocked gas door and removed the cap, severing the cord connecting it to the car.
Medeiros then went back to her car and drove off.
Medeiros is being charged with Burglary of Auto Parts.
